LISA KOHL
Lisa Kohl explores diverse mediums, including digital media, installations, field research, documentation, staging, and poetry, with a focus on the ephemeral, invisible, and imaginary. Her work emphasizes absence, movement, and situational intervention. The artist's research delves into fundamental questions of human existence and the absurdity of the human condition, challenging perception and prompting reflection on vulnerability, fears, and hopes through her personal visual language. Fascinated by social spaces lacking identity, she directs her attention to transit spaces, border zones, and no man's land, rooted in a political and poetic vision of territory and human transition. The artist explores exile, revealing traces of crossed areas and drawing a fragile line between the visible and invisible.

HAVEN
Video-sound installation | 2021 4K | 5’20” | LED Wall | 216 x 384 cm
The video-sound installation HAVEN captures a close-up view from a ship. The title of the work refers to a place of longing; a destination of arrival and departure, where reception and refuge can be made possible.

HALIDOM
Selection of the Photography series | Canary Islands | Spain - North Africa | 2022 | Archival Pigment Print | 107 x 150 cm
The photography series HALIDOM creates a sanctuary on an iconographic level. Sculptural figures in barren “non-places” and border zones become symbolic monuments and representatives of the unseen. The series confronts the viewer with transitional spaces as a symbol of the yearning for freedom and redemption.

THE LINE
